Inverness Crisis Pregnancy Centre was begun by Rev Malcolm MacInnes, minister of the Inverness congregation, and his wife Catherine. Having run such a centre in Toronto, Canada they became very conscious of similar needs in Inverness.
The centre helps women in both pregnancy or pregnancy loss, including abortion. Counselling by trained women advisors is available for an unplanned pregnancy, pre-abortion, post-abortion and miscarriage.
A befriending service is available, as well as free clothes and equipment provision for those on a low income, and advice on benefits and accommodation. Strict confidentiality is observed and counsellors can give as much time as is needed to talk in a friendly and relaxed environment.
